Lotus
July 9, 2011
Lotus flowers hold a special place in Eastern religion. Found growing in the mud, these beautiful lilies represent both our groundedness here on earth and our longing for the divine.
This 30″x40″ painting was created with acrylics on canvas for a friend who loves yoga. The colors were chosen to coordinate with the decor of her new home.

This is really beautiful
Loved the colours. Purple is so soothing
Just a suggestion, if you can change the “Aum” symbol there. A side curved stroke is missing.

Thank you Sakhi. I talked to my friend about your suggestion for a revised ‘Aum’ symbol. We wondered what difference there is in meaning between the two ways of rendering it.

I love this one, Amy-Lynn! Would love to see the original…

Pepsoid, the original certainly brightened up my dining room when I had it on an easel there. Original art certainly has an effect that is poorly translated into a print or the computer screen.
